I love quotes!

I am in the mood of writing today.. Monday, a busy day for mostly everyone. For me, It is the last day of my rest day. I woke up around 3:30 in the morning. Charlsz and Basti are going to school so I need to prepare food for them and heat water for their bath. I end up cooking fried chicken because Charlsz wanted that. I even created an accessory for Basti's classmate for their monito monita(exchange gifts). Christmas is fast approaching and New year is about to start. I wonder why others need to wait for January to start something new in their lives. Well, what i meant by that is we can change a thing as soon as possible if we want to. Yes, if really want to. I just read a quote from an anonymous writer. and it goes like this... "Stop waiting for things to happen. You must do something you never did to get something you never had." We can't just wait that everything will fall into to its right places without doing anything..
I need to share this quotes given by my friend Ben.. I need to erase his last name because i haven't ask permission if I can let his name mentioned in my blogs. here are the screenshots
Did you see Sir Annoy Aust? It is Ben. Because he annoyed me the first time we talked, haha! I wish I can post his pic here with his signature smirk. Annoying but funny most of the time.

What he wrote on my wall is true. There are no limits when it comes to having what you planned if you really want it. But if we let fears take over, there will be limits. Fear of losing. Fear of frustration. A lot of people hate risks because of those reasons. I can say that I am a risk taker. I don't let anything and definitely no one can stop me. I mean those people who puts me down and doesn't believe in me. I don't strive to prove something to others. I strive to achieve something.

When I started reading the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, it really inspired me and awakened my senses. I know that I was a mess but by keeping my act together, have plans, take action and be with the right people will help me a lot along the way of achieving that "something". Work hard and play harder! and I agree what Sherlene said, go negosyo! (go business!) Let us not work for money but make money work for us! Invest and work hard. From the above screenshot, Ben said, its all out there for the taking.. I think what he means is opportunity. We just need is ACTION! As Eminem used to sing "Opportunities come once in a lifetime".. If its there, grab it!

I am hoping that this will move you. Stand up and do something... IT IS ALL OUT THERE READY FOR THE TAKING!

Next blog will be all about my plan for next year! As promised, it will be handwritten..

FASHION IS...

It was September 18, 2010.. I went to Robinson's Tagaytay City with friends Adel and Sherlene. It was a long time since we spent time together. We were eating at Razon's when I received a message from Emar(designer, flower arranger and make-up artist), a college friend from CvSU. We chat and exchange stories. I told him that I am fond of making accessories and thinking of putting up a business. He suggested to join the fashion show he will organize by November. I was so excited that time. I was dead serious about going out of the rat race. I already started reading books putting up a business, talk to people who can help me and think of a good business to put up.  As my bestfriend Sherlene always say,  This is it! She is very good when it comes to motivating me. November 27 came, FASHION IS.. Cavite State University.. it was a great experience. From our way to the fashion show, I felt butterflies in my stomach. Sherlene said "ok lang yan, first time mo eh!" (It's ok. It's ur first time.) Emar took us in the backstage and  I was asked to pick the models who will wear my creations. Great bodies and skin! I envy their body, haha! But anyways, I really appreciate it when I was walking at the runway and seeing people clapping, knowing that they appreciated the accessories I made. I met few people and one of those is Jewel Jimenez from Glamouroza Couture. He invited me to join the fashion show they will organize early next year.  So another fashion show to look forward to. Thank you everyone who helped and supported me. Please add us in facebook. YSAI PEREA COLLECTIONS (ysai.perea@yahoo.com).

The Big Day.. Fashion Show is Near!

It's been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a blog. I became busy and if I don't feel like writing, I am not forcing myself.
Well, fashion show night is very near. I felt a lot of frustrations and disappointments. But I am no stopping. The best is yet to come. This is a start of something great.
I created a facebook account (ysai.perea@yahoo.com) for my collections but I am not posting anything yet.. I will, after the fashion show..

I don't have sleep yet. I was not able to make accessories for the show because I was busy making ck's project, proofreading reaction paper and making basti's project as well.

I still have my work,  starting a business and I am a single mom. It looks like it is a lot of work, yeah, but seeing all the results, I feel contented.

I just finished watching Eat, Pray, Love starring Julia Roberts. For me, i liked it. It is all about taking chances and risks. It is a fact that we can't get all what we wanted. What matters is acceptance of the things we cannot change..

I can't think straightly now(haha). 3:28 in my pc's clock...

I will write again soon! xoxo!

PLANNING 101

Four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pursue persistently.-William A. Ward

Everyday, I spend 2 hours and more just to go to work. For others, it is tiring and a waste of time. Others ask, why don't get a job near your place or get an apartment? Sometimes, I think about it.I still love my job,so I don't want to quit and I don't want to be away from home.

Since I am very serious of putting up a business, while inside the bus, I am doing something. I am PLANNING.

I always believe that goals/dreams without a plan, is like fighting in a war without a gun.

On my way to work, I have my pen, small notebook, my ipod and a book. Whenever I think of an idea, I write it down so I won't foget it. Currently, I am reading Robert Kiyosaki's Conspiracy of the Rich- The 8 New Rules of Money.

Planning is preparing. It is not just about preparing of what you need to do to start your business, but to keep it for the longest period of time. And that is much harder than starting. If Plan A didn't work, you should have a Plan B and a Plan C.

My camera is not working so I can't show you yet my sketches, my plans and my marketing strategy. I found sites that might help those people, who are like me, that would like to start their own business.

Those are few sites that I already read that might help you. Since I am an aspiring businesswoman, I take steps one at a time. Big things came from small beginnings.

I believe this quotation, for me, it applies to anything...

"Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved." -  --  William Jennings Bryan

*Thanks Emar (for the opportunity) Maie(will do pre-production shots of my accessories) Joyce (my proofreader) Ben (my biz guru) and  Sherlene (gosh, for everything) I love you guys. You made the word friendship so meaningful to me. *

1. Pursuit

pur·suit

 noun \pər-ˈsüt, -ˈsyüt\

Definition of PURSUIT

1
: the act of pursuing
2
: an activity that one engages in as a vocation, profession, or avocation

Have you ever asked yourself what you really wanted in life? Is there something that you really wanted and did things just to get it?
I did. I know, once in your life, you did too.
For me, it doesn't really matter if you succeed or failed. All that matters is you dared to try.

I was chatting with my friend Sherlene, and the talk was all about being great at something. We shared the same sentiment. We felt that we are better than what we are now. I know that I can't be an employee all my life. I don't want to work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, pay incredibly high taxes, budgeting a certain amount of money and not being there whenever my kids needed me.

Ben, a friend from Oz, who is a businessman himself, motivated me a lot. He even told me that he believes I am destined for something great. He gave me sites that could help me, gave me list of books to read and he showered me with inspiring thoughts and ideas about putting up a business. Before, I told him that I just want enough. Enough that I can send my kids to school, save a little for their future, buy things that we need and wanted, and treat ourselves from time to time.

I realized, life is too short and time flies so fast. Why waste it? Make the most out of it.

I read this book suggested by Sherlene and Ben. "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. For me, this is worth reading.  The book is all about going out of the rat race and taking risks. It gave me two choices. Play it safe or play it smart.

Being good in something makes you feel accomplished, contented and happy. I am not going to start my pursuit because I just want everybody to see what I have become, but I want to prove myself that I can do anything to reach my goals and dreams in God's time.

Expect stories of my journey, it may be ups and downs, tips and a lot more.. your comments, ideas and suggestions of stories and topics will be most appreciated.

Join me, as I start my journey to Pursuit of Something Great..

“The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way.”
by Robert Kiyosaki
